Please use this page to complete the introductory activities that we have scheduled for today.

The following links/documents will be used for today's (Monday, April 9th) introductory activities for our unit on Greek Literature, focusing on the ancient tragedy Oedipus The King.

Welcome to Spring Semester!

It's a new semester, with all-new classes, and I for one, could not be more excited!

My schedule for this semester is as follows:
1st Block: Planning
2nd Block: World Literature (w/ Mr. Amhad)
3rd Block: 9th Grade Literature (B Lunch)
4th Block: World Literature

I hope to update the blog at least twice a week, so please check back often for updates.

World Literature Final Exam Info

Your final exam will be on Thursday, December 22.  The study guide was handed out on Tuesday, December 13.  A digital copy is attached to this post.

You will be working on the "constructed response" (aka essay) portion of the exam in class on Monday, December 19.  We reviewed these questions in class today, December 16.  The PowerPoint notes that were taken are also attached.

Here is your assignment for World Literature, today, Monday, November 28, 2011.

First, create and fill out a KWL chart according to the example on slide 3 of the PowerPoint presentation and on the big board in the classroom.  You will respond to the first 2 questions BEFORE viewing the rest of the presentation, and you will finish part 3 AFTER you have finished all of the other activities for the day.

Complete the guided notes graphic organizer distributed at the beginning of class as you work through the slideshow.  All of the answers and information you need will be included in the slideshow.  Please make sure you read all information carefully.

On a separate sheet of paper, please define the literary devices and terms that are on the board under "W. Lit Vocab".  All of the information you will need for this particular activity can be found on slides 14-21 of the PowerPoint.

When you have finished all of these activities, please go back to the KWL from the start of class and make sure you have throughly filled out the 3rd column.

When you are finished, please turn in the KWL, the Vocabulary, and the Guided Notes.

Middle Ages Test Study Guide & Persuasive Essay Info

On Wednesday, November 16, students will be turning in a persuasive essay answering the question: Is chivalry dead?

World Lit: 9/26-9/30

This week marks the beginning of the second 6-week grading period of the semester, and the start of new unit.  Having just wrapped up our study of the literature of India, we will now move east, to the Far East, fora two week-study of Chinese and Japanese literature.

Here is a quick breakdown of the week:

World Lit: 9/19-9/23/11

World Literature Students: A few reminders for this week

Your Think Tac Toe projects based on the Rig Veda are due at the beginning of class on Monday, September 19. 

Friday, September 23 marks the end of the first 6-weeks grading period.  This means that any missing work that has yet to be turned in needs to be submitted by Friday. 

Many of you are missing your Indian Literature vocabulary terms.  In case you no longer have the word list, they terms are:

• Reprobate
• Extirpate
• Sulks

If you have not submitted these terms with their accompanying definitions, please do so ASAP.
